Dreaming of what

12 Mar

This is the one simple question I think about every single day. I wonder what makes people do the things they do, and not in a objective way.

What makes the six guys at a street corner stand there for hours on end, whistling at girls, annyoing passers-by.

Why does someone work a deadend job and not enjoy it, not even do it right.

How does a cab driver feel when he makes a detour to make a few more euros.

Why do people try to conform to what they think is required of them? Why do you work a 9 to 5 job, every day, and don’t even like it. I know there’s peer pressure, bills to pay, your parents’ expectations or even children that depend on you. Does that make it all okay? Maybe it’s my youthful naivity, but I hope I will never understand. The question should probably be, do you?
