Domaining, what is it; am I a domainer?

One of the people in my reads on the right is Frank Schilling, a first mover, or one of the first, in the domaining business. He made and makes a lot of money through investments in online real-estate, the domain names. But what is domaining? It could be defined as investingĀ in high-value generic domain names for the purpose of future development, which would be Frank’s definition. But that would only cover a small part of the market, other than the fact that the term high-value is pretty relative to what you find high-value obviously.
My interpretation is that it involves investing in domain names with a future value in mind. Please note that this future value is the value a domain would have upon development. The other side of domaining is investing in domain names for current revenue streams through adds, called ppc (pay per click). For me, the former is the one worth pursuing, the latter is just exploiting a name short-term.
My most recent acquisition? The name chowoo.com. Why did I buy it? Because it is a 6 letter .com domain that has a ring to it and I would see it as a good name for a future project. Do you have your domain name already? yourname.com, yourfuturecompany.com? This is the time to at least check out the price for it, it won’t get any cheaper, demand is rising.
